Engines Running: The Mille Miglia 2026 Begins With Chopard As World Sponsor And Official Timekeeper

The Mille Miglia, taking place from June 9th to 13th, is once again drawing classic car enthusiasts onto Italy’s most beautiful roads. Over the next five days of competition, more than 400 historic automobiles will cover a 1,000 mile loop between Brescia and Rome, following a figure eight route inspired by the original races held between 1927 and 1938. Blending sporting challenge, mechanical heritage and spectacular scenery, the event remains one of the most celebrated fixtures in the international motoring calendar.

On June 9th, Chopard once again took its place on the starting line of this eagerly anticipated rally. Marking its 39th consecutive year as World Sponsor and Official Timekeeper, the Maison continues one of the longest standing partnerships between a watchmaker and a motorsport event. On this occasion, Chopard unveils a new interpretation of the Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph Raticosa. Named after the iconic Raticosa Pass, this latest creation celebrates a place where mechanical endurance, human skill and landscape come together in spectacular style.

A closed caseback bears an engraved motif executed in titanium to allow for precise detailing. It is designed like a postcard dedicated to the Raticosa Pass and the spirit of the race. It depicts a car powering across the mountain road, surrounded by spectators, capturing the festive atmosphere and the close bond between the event and its public.

This year, Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, Co-President of Chopard and a devoted collector of classic cars, is once again sharing the cockpit with legendary racing driver and Chopard Ambassador Jacky Ickx, at the wheel of the Scheufele family’s Mercedes Benz 300 SL Gullwing.

As engines roar to life in Brescia, Chopard celebrate its latest creations: the Mille Miglia GTS Power Control – 2026 Racing Edition, issued in a limited edition of 250 pieces, as well as the Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph Raticosa.
